Tuesday, May 10: Kerr Bikes Free Community Ride

Join Kerr Bikes for a Free 3-mile Community Bike Ride Along Portland’s Waterfront; Use Pedal Power to Support Albertina Kerr Services all Summer


May 5, 2011 (Portland, OR) – Kerr Bikes will host the first-ever free Community Ride on Tuesday, May 10 at 5:30 p.m. Setting off from the Kerr Bikes kiosk at Tom McCall Waterfront Park’s Salmon Street Springs, the ride will follow a Kerr Bikes route north through Waterfront Park, across the Steel Bridge, along the East Bank Promenade and back over the Hawthorne Bridge to the kiosk. Bring your own wheels or check out a free bike rental for the evening. Kick up the fun with surreys, deuce coupes, choppers, quad sports and slingshots. Beyond providing great fun on the waterfront, Kerr Bikes supports the work of Albertina Kerr, helping children, families and adults with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. The only Portland bike rental where you can have fun and give back to your community, Kerr Bikes also employs people with developmental disabilities in meaningful jobs.

 

Kerr Bikes is open seven days a week, March through October and offers standard bike rentals, tandem bikes and trail-a-bikes as well as surreys, deuce coupes, choppers, quad sports and slingshots. Kerr Bikes also operates a free U-Fix-It Bike Station on Tom McCall waterfront. Complete with bike lifts, specialty tools and tire pumps, everything you need to give your bike a tune-up. The Bike Station is open during Kerr Bikes’ business hours – 7 days a week, weather permitting.
