Albertina Kerr, a community-based nonprofit organization that empowers people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and mental health challenges to lead self-determined lives in their communities, has received a $15,000 grant from the U.S. Bank Foundation. The grant will be used to provide job skills training and career readiness services for adults with I/DD.
“Creating equitable opportunities for our community requires substantial resources. We deeply appreciate the support from the U.S. Bank Foundation, which helps us to expand our innovative employment programs for people with I/DD,” said Allison Stark, CEO of Albertina Kerr.
As Oregon’s largest provider of supports and services for people with I/DD, Kerr’s Employment Services helps people with I/DD identify and achieve their employment goals, assisting in finding and maintaining meaningful employment within the community. Services include pre-employment activities, work assessments, job placement and onboarding, and job coaching to ensure long-term success.
“Supporting the development of a dynamic workforce is an investment in today and our future. We’re proud to work with organizations like Albertina Kerr to help people succeed in their careers and build thriving communities,” said Meghan Valley, community affairs manager at U.S. Bank.
U.S. Bank is committed to powering human potential and creating lasting change in communities. The bank does this through the Community Possible platform, including philanthropy, community investments and team member volunteerism.
